New Board Member: Kimmi Long

Kimmi Long has worked with a variety of local and national nonprofit organizations and events since 1995, including but not limited to the American Running Association, San Diego Youth Services, Carlsbad Lightning Youth Soccer, La Jolla Youth Soccer, StandUp for Kids (DC, Oceanside and San Diego) and DC SCORES.

Her interest in helping nonprofit leaders develop a strong set of leadership and governance skills blossomed when she formed the Grom Project, Inc. as a 5051(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2003. She quickly found that there is a huge gap in knowledge and guidance provided to new business owners and in particular nonprofit business owners and leaders, and was relieved to discover the network and knowledge base that YNPN San Diego proudly facilitates.

Currently Kimmi completes her work with nonprofits as both a paid and volunteer consultant providing guidance for startup, volunteer management, public relations and fundraising. She is also a fitness coach and certified personal trainer and will graduate as a Massage Therapist from Body Mind College in the Fall 2010. She has been an active member of the YNPN San Diego Membership Committee since early 2009 and manages the LinkedIn group.
